What your kids will learn
Self Defence
We teach children how to understand their bodies and protect themselves. By understanding their own body and physical principles they will learn the skills necessary to protect themselves in dangerous situations.
Discipline and Respect
A huge component of BJJ is respect for yourself and others. There is a belt system that children work towards, not only through their BJJ skills but also their conduct on the mats. We respect everyone and take care of our teammates.
Co-ordination
BJJ utilises both upper and lower body. Being able to connect the two so that you can follow through with movements is a huge part of the program. Children learn how to master their co-ordination helping them with other sports and tasks outside of BJJ.
Co-operation
BJJ is teamwork. We work as a team and all of the activties are done as pair-work. This helps develop children’s social skills beyond verbal interaction.
Hear from the parents
BJJ is that common language for me to make friends all over the world. Visiting BJJ gyms has become a must do activity when I travel to different places, I am so glad that BJJ lets us connect regardless of our lineages, jobs and races. Of course, it also keeps me fit in both physical and emotional aspects. Remember, "If life does not go right, go train!
Purple belt
Alvin
With a fair amount of wear and tear to show for my 56 laps around the sun there is absolutely no logical justification for me to embark down, and stay on, the BJJ road..except for one simple reason.... Professor Kiko and everyone that trains at D'jago make it worth it.
If the physical challenge of getting folded into a pretzel for 2 hours a day is your thing, then there really is no better way than BJJ!
